i see where you guys are coming from, but i think a large part of Niall revamping his image is just management wanting him to be more marketable (especially since he’d sell well with his new image in the U.S.). Harry has never tried to become a favorite, so just because he wants out of the spotlight doesn’t  mean he’d stop becoming people’s favorite (i’m sure management knows that). but i do think that management is also aware that Niall’s rising popularity could give some leverage for the band if Harry ever decided to do something drastic (say, come out).
